Conservation and Biodiversity:

Chris Banks, C.E.O of Conservation Basics, came into our class and to share what conservation issues we have in our area. He also brainstormed ideas with us about what we could create to solve these problems. After discussing with the class we decided to design a product that will help the endangered species, Sage Grouse.

What is a Sage Grouse?

The sage grouse are birds that have long pointy tails and black bellies. They live in sagebrush. These birds fly into fences because they can’t see them, so we came up with an idea to make a visibility fence marker. The marker will flap in the wind and reflect off the sun to signal to the birds that the fences are there. It will prevent them from flying into the fences and injuring themselves. This will make it so they live longer because they wont get injured or killed on the fences, it will also help with the population.
