Elementary

Welcome to North Gem Elementary!

Located in the small, rural community of Bancroft, Idaho, North Gem Elementary is part of the North Gem School District #149. It serves a tight-knit population of students from Pre-K through 6th grade, characterized by its "small school, big heart" atmosphere.

Because the school is part of a K-12 campus, elementary students benefit from a seamless transition through their academic years and a high level of individual attention that larger districts often can't provide.

Key Highlights

  • Small Class Sizes: One of the school’s primary strengths is its low student-to-teacher ratio. This allows for personalized instruction and strong mentorship between staff and students.
  • Four-Day School Week: Like many rural districts in Idaho, North Gem typically operates on a Monday through Thursday schedule. This model is designed to increase efficiency and provide families with more time together on weekends.
  • Community Integration: The school acts as a hub for the Bancroft community. Events are well-attended by locals, and there is a strong sense of "Cowboy Pride" (the school mascot).
  • Focus on Literacy: The elementary program places a heavy emphasis on early literacy and foundational math skills to ensure students are prepared for the rigors of the secondary level.
